Hello! I am a new mod developer, new to both java and mod development. I thought I would learn by making a mod that I am surprised no one has made yet. As I said, I am new, and I work a lot, so learning is slow and coding is slower. I'll keep a list of features and planned features as well as some screenshots. If any fans of the series want to help, I am more than happy to accept help. Since I am horrible at art, any textures/models are appreciated.

 

***Updates***

 

12/14/2015 – Made pictures in spoilers smaller. Added descriptions in spoilers to help with lore for people who have not read the books. Will work on crafting recipe images on my next off day.

12/25/2015 – Got the Motai animal to render. Works good with a spawn egg, but I think the game crashes when it loads naturally. Either that, or the Angel Ter'Angreal is causing it. Will figure that out this weekend! Will also be working on making the Aiel and Trollocs this weekend.

12/18/2015 – Fixed crash issue. Completed Trolloc mob. Looking for anyone interested in writing code for custom structures + spawning in/around said structures for custom mob. Changed Whitecloak armor recipes to be shapeless. Changed Cuendillar tools to Power Enhanced Tools.


12/19/2015 – Aiel mob is complete. Aiel garb is complete. Finished Goat and drops for Goat including Meat + Hide. Included crafting recipe for Aiel garb.

12/20/2015 – Completed Myrddraal. Fast, deadly and lots of health. Not to be underestimated!

12/23/2015 – Finished Sul'dam and Damane, and compiled the mod to release a playable test version. There is an optional Biome added, but you must choose Wheel Of Time under world type to get it. It's still WIP, all it adds right now is the "Blight" biome. Which has dead looking grass, dead bushes and in the future, will prevent all spawns except Trolloc, Myrddraal and Darkhounds.

12/30/2015 – Redid the layout of my post. Made some more foods and recipes to go along with them. Added Ice Pepper and Kaf Bush plants. Working on generation of Tinker Wagons, right now they spawn in the air sometimes, or inside terrain. Once that is working, I'll work on adding Tinkers to them, with trades. Added Asha'man mob, though having trouble getting him to fireball other mobs instead of the player.

Motai is an edible worm found in the Aiel Waste. Drops from passive mob with the same name.

Kaf is the favored drink among Seanchan. Place the unbrewed Kaf in a furnace to brew it.

Passive Mobs

 

 

Goat's are breedable with wheat, and milkable. Drops raw goat meat and goat hide when killed.

Motai are grub worms found in the Aiel Waste. They have a sweet, crunchiness when eaten.

Aiel (pronounced: eye-EEL) are fierce fighters who come from the Aiel Waste. Referred to as "The Three-fold Land" by the Aiel, the Waste is a brutal land that scorches during the day and freezes during the night. They once followed the "Way of the Leaf", doing no harm to any, fleeing at the slightest act of violence. Over the years they have forgotten their heritage and taken up fighting with a spear and buckler combo. Only the Wise Ones and Clan Leaders who have been to the sacred city of Rhuidean know the true past. They will attack any Darkspawn on sight. During the Trolloc Wars, Trollocs referred to the Aiel Waste as "The Dying Grounds".

Whitecloaks, also called The Children of the Light are an independent military organization dedicated to finding Darkfriends and rooting out evil and corruption wherever it may be found. Their zeal in this endeavor often borders on the insane and makes them dangerous opponents. They will attack any Darkspawn on sight.

The Asha'man are the male counterpart to current Aes Sedai. They channel the tainted male half of the One Power called Saidin. Every man who can touch the male half has gone mad since the Dark One tainted the male half with his touch. Only recently, when Rand Al'thor cleansed the male half of the One Power, have they been safe from madness.

Hostile Mobs

 

 

Myrddraal (pronounced: MUHRD-draal), also called Halfmen , are the offspring of Trollocs, but a throwback to the human side. Compared to the Trollocs, they are smarter, viperishly quick and very hard to kill. Borderlanders are often quoted saying "Halfmen are twice as hard to kill, and take twice as long to admit they are dead." This comes from the fact that a Myddraal will not fully die until the sunsets, often flailing it's sword around, even if it's head has been cut off.

Trolloc (pronounced: TRAHL-lohk) are the bulk of the shadowspawn army. A crossing of human and animal stock, their physical characteristics are a blending of both lineages, horrifying almost all that come in contact with them. They also fear rivers and crossing bodies of water. To some extent they fear, and hate, wolves and kill them whenever possible.

Sul'dam are Seanchan women who can control damane, women who can channel the One Power and are viewed as too dangerous to roam free in society.

A damane is a woman who can channel who has been leashed by the Seanchan, using a type of ter'angreal called an a'dam. The a'dam allowed the Sul'dam to cause pain or pleasure with a thought. It also prevents the Damane from channeling unless given permission. If the Damane tries to remove the collar, they feel increasingly sick until they remove any thought of escaping from their mind. This works on physical harm as well. No Damane can hold any object which she feels she could use as a weapon to hard the Sul'dam.

Armor

 

 

Aiel Garb is crafted using goat hide in the standard manner. The shoufa (helm) is crafted with an ink sac in the empty 'inside' the helm while on the crafting grid. Gives a little better protection than leather armor.

Whitecloak armor is crafted using Sunburst emblems. Combine the emblems with iron armor to make the helm, pants and boots. To make the chest, you need to crafted a plain tabard. Place 7 wool in a standard chest formation. Then combine that with a sunburst emblem to get Whitecloak Tabard. Combine that with iron chest piece to get the Whitecloak chest piece. You can craft the sunburst emblem by making a + sign with gold nuggets.

Items

 

 

Power Infused Tools are made using ingots with the same name. They are a little above diamond tools.Standard crafting recipes of course.

Cuendillar shards are made by putting 3 power dust in a crafting table in a / formation. Dust comes from Power Ore deep in the ground. (Y 0-5)

Cuendillar Blocks are made by surrounding an Obsidian block with Cuendillar shards. The result is an indestructible block, so place it carefully.

The Angel Ter'Angreal allows the player to fly as long as it is in their inventory. Currently only available in creative tab, but adding either a crafting recipe, or chest loot soon.

The spear is the weapon of choice used by the Aiel. Same qualities as an iron sword.

World Generations

 

 

Power Infused Ore is found at Y 5 and below. Drops Power Dust when mined, which is smelted for Power Infused Ingots.

Ice Peppers are found all over the overworld. Break at max growth (blue peppers show at bottom) to receive Ice Peppers. They can be planted, eaten, or used to make stews.

Kaf bushes grow beans used to make the Kaf drink. Break the bush when the beans darken. Replantable and used in Kaf recipe only.

Features For The Future:

These are things I would like to do, but are more than likely beyond my ability. As I code and learn, I will try to add things such as:

 

A channeling system for using the male and female halves of the power

Possibly a sword based fighting system using Sword Forms described in the book
