AFKbox – Build a box around idle players:

Latest version: v1.2

First, a bit of backstory. I run a (very) small server for family and friends,
and we have been known to mess with each other an awful lot. Among the most
common pranks was what we called an "AFK box":
whenever someone walked away (or quit paying attention) we would quickly
run over there and build a box around them with whatever we had on hand.

So when I decided I wanted to try making a plugin, of COURSE that was what it had to do! :p
We have been quite happy with the result, so I decided I would share it.

It doesn't actually detect when someone is away and box them automatically. Instead,
somebody has to use /afkbox [-t] target material

This will build a 3x3x4 box around the target player by replacing the air around them
with the material provided. it will NOT modify existing terrain, to prevent
damage to nearby structures.

If you use the -t flag, it even puts a torch at
their feet to give them a little light, if possible.

It is permission compatible, and provides three nodes:
afkbox.basic: only allows making boxes out of dirt, glass, and sponge
afkbox.most: allows making boxes out of everything EXCEPT for obsidian, bedrock, water, lava, fire, and TNT
afkbox.all: allows making boxes out of everything.

If you do not set these nodes with another plugin, it defaults to give
everyone afkbox.basic, and give OPs afkbox.most.

Please do be careful with this. It has been known to play poorly when
used on mobile players, especially those on stairs or ladders, and cause
them to get stuck inside the wall/ceiling of their box. For this reason,
using it on players in a vehicle won't work at all. This having been said,
we have had no problems with using on on people who are actually idle.

Features:

  • Makes a box around a player who may or may not actually be idle.
  • Uses superperms to limit what materials a player can do this with.
  • Does not damage surrounding structures: only replaces air
