AutomataCraft

Adds a automata block that lets you match and replace 3x3x3 patterns of blocks.

Lets you control if the automata is running using redsignals.

Some things you can do:

– Replace all water from a lake with lava

– Empty a block region

– Infinite railroads

– Stairs going way down to bedrock level

– Computations like sorting or anything with a finite state machine

The possibilities are endless

Instructions:

Add a start block pattern 

Add a 3x3x3 block pattern to be the replacement

Add a 3x3x3 block pattern to be the matcher (empty matches any)

Add a 3x3x3 termination block pattern 

Add a automata block nearby

There are also ways to replace with lava, water and another automata block with the same rules. It is even possible to program conways game of life using this mod.

An example that creates an infinite railroad using the automata placeholder on the replacement pattern:
