The new look horses were given in The Update Aquatic simply put is a big step backwards from DrZhark's beautiful model we've been enjoying ever since horses where added all the way back in 2013. So let's bring the old model back!
FEATURES
RESTORED MODEL
This mod restores the beautiful and very detailed model every type of horse was using before Minecraft 1.13 came around to simplify things. Therefor this mod changes the models for the following mobs:
- Horses
- Donkeys
- Mules
- Skeleton Horses
- Zombie Horses
Horse armor is reverted as well. It comes with custom textures which fit the new texture style in Minecraft 1.14 and onwards.
IMPROVED HUD
In addition to the changes brought to the horse model this mod also improves the in-game hud while riding:
- The food bar is always shown, the mount hearts are simply shifted upwards
- The jump bar only appears when it's charged, otherwise the experience bar is shown as normal
This feature is inspired by the now outdated Better Horse Hud mod made by DouweKoopmans.
NOTES
Versions of this mod for Minecraft 1.12.2 and older labeled as Simplified Horses will do the opposite of what current versions are doing, meaning they bring the new horse model to those old versions.
The model in this mod is a straight port from older versions of the game, meaning even horse textures from old resource packs will work with this mod.
This mod runs purely one the client-side. It therefor even works when playing on a vanilla server.
