Description
Gemstone Rifles is a collection of firearms with a decorative twist. Each type of weapon is crafted using a different gemstone, adding a little challenge compared to other gun mods.
- Ammo: Ammunition comes in two forms; loose and paper cartridge. Some weapons can only use one or the other.
- Loading: Arming the weapons is done in the crafting menu, save the musket, which functions like the crossbow.
- Damage: These weapons are very powerful, however, their slow reloading speeds, as well as resource requirements, means that they will need special attention during combat.
To load most of the weapons, place the empty gun in the 2X2 crafting array with gunpowder and an iron nugget.
Paper Cartridges can be used in most of the guns. They are crafted in pairs of two using gunpowder, paper and an iron nugget. Using cartridges will double the amount of ammo for your guns, at the cost of paper.
The Rifle is the most basic, and most useful weapon in the pack. It is long range, and extremely accurate, and deals high damage. Craft with two iron ingots, a gold bar, flint and steel and the planks of your choice. When loading with loose ammo, swap the iron nugget for some Blaze Powder to insta-cook anything you shoot! Careful though, if you miss you might burn your house down!
The Musket works a little differently than the rifle. It is short range and lacks power, only having a bit more range than the stock bow. It also can only fire paper cartridge ammunition. However, it deals extreme damage and nock back, killing anything in range almost instantly. Craft using two iron ingots, an emerald, a flint and steel and the planks of your choice. It loads and fires like the crossbow, as long as you have cartridges, you can keep shooting.
The pistol is the most unique of the bunch. It is unable to be aimed and fires with LEFT CLICK, much like swinging a sword. It is very short range and deals only moderate damage, but has a huge nock back. This makes it the perfect choice for creepers who get just a little too close. Craft with one iron ingot, one lapis lazuli, a flint and steel and the planks of your choice. Check the spoiler below for something special!
If the mod "Minecolonies" is installed, the pistol can be carried by Knights. They will still treat the pistol as a sword, which means they only get one shot at near point blank range. When they drop the empty gun off at the hut, you or the "minecolonies" NPCs can reload/recraft a loaded gun. The nock back effect still applies, so anything shot by the nights will get sent flying and dealt decent damage.
