📖 About:
Golden Age Combat brings back all of the old combat mechanics. So say goodbye to the attack cooldown and hello spam clicking! Also welcome back useful mechanics such as sword blocking.

The Attack Cooldown is gone! Everything is back to how it used to be before the Combat Update, no cooldown animation, no attack indicator, no traces of any attack speed left anywhere. Just as if it never even existed. Therefore the attack damage of every weapon and tool is also rebalanced, mostly resembling the old values.
Sword Blocking is back, what more is there to say really? I's just as equally awesome as it was back in the day.
Health Regeneration From Food Is Rebalanced. Surplus saturation will no longer trigger a ridiculously fast regeneration boost, resulting in health only being regenerated from food every 4 seconds.
Weak attacks which do not cause any damage will once again Knock Back Players. Such attacks can be dealt by throwing projectiles, e. g. snowballs and eggs. Furthermore Critical Hits are again possible while sprinting.
The Old Fishing Rod Behavior is restored, making them deal knockback to entities, and causing reeling in an entity to provide a slight upwards motion.
Entity Hitboxes are inflated by 10%, making hitting a target possible from a slightly greater range and with much increased accuracy. This feature is disabled by default.
Changes to the Eye Height, mainly when starting or stopping to sneak, are instant once again, removing any unnecessary visual delay. This also affects swimming, and therefore is disabled by default.
Notch Apples again give as strong potion effects as they used to. They can also be crafted from one apple and 8 blocks of gold once again.
A few client-side Combat Animations are re-added. Those include armor turning red upon hit, lost hearts no longer flashing, bow / potion / food punching, sword block hitting, and last but definitely not least the good old third-person sword blocking pose. Both the removal of flashing hearts and the third-person blocking pose are disabled by default.
There are also some minor adjustments to better integrate the old combat system into modern Minecraft gameplay. So now the Sweeping Edge enchantment is required for a sweeping attack to trigger. Also sword blocking doesn't work while also holding a shield, using the Shield Is Prioritized therefore. And most of the cooldown related Combat Sounds Are Removed.

✏️ Notes:
Swords regaining their right-clicking ability leads to some items such as bows and food becoming unusable in the off-hand while holding a sword in the main hand. This behavior is left unchanged intentionally to encourage the usage of alternative weapons such as axes. To fix the lack of weapon enchantments on axes, check out Sneaky Magic, another mod made by me.
For Golden Age Combat to fully function it needs to be installed on both the client and server.
