Description
1.16.5 is also now out! The new changes are the same, with the exception of 1.17-related content such as Deepslate blocks, etc. Enjoy!
The update for 1.17.1 is now out! A few changes have been added to this version.
First and foremost, the mod now includes blocks and items pertaining to two more holidays because I wanted to make things more inclusive this time around. So for Kwanzaa, you'll find blocks such as a Kinara, a Mkeka, a chalice, and a tray full of all the harvested crops. Speaking of crops, there are 2 new ones– corn and sweet potatoes. There's also a recipe for sweet potato pie. The Kinara and Chalice can both be placed on the Mkeka.

For Hanukkah, I've added in a menorah, and some decorative dreidels and gelt blocks. There's also a recipe for rugelach. Both the Kinara and Menorah can be lit with a Flint and Steel.

Another change I've added is to the Christmas tree. It's now a growable tree, and the sapling can be harvested from Spruce leaves. You can also still find them growing in the wild, of course. Just look for a cold or Taiga biome. The Christmas trees now can be decorated with ornaments. You can choose from bright colors or more traditional Christmas colors. They can go on any Christmas tree that has been placed in a stand.
The fences, gates, and doors that are decorated with garland/lights now include the crimson and warped woods. The garland-decorated walls also now include Blackstone and Deepslate varieties.
There are now presents! You can find these inside dungeons, temples, and mineshafts. Breaking the present open reveals the gift inside. Gifts range from okay to super good, and it's a random chance for each, so it's always a surprise!
There are 2 music discs of Christmas music. Find them in dungeons and igloos, pop them in and enjoy some holiday tunes while you decorate!
Garlands and lights (except for the icicle varieties) now all have a vertical version, along with corners. All lights can also now connect around corners.
There are lighted Spruce leaves, and a new Holly tree as well, that grows in cold biomes.
The last change is a small one–there is also a cookie tray block. Display your yummy treats in a fun way! This one is purely decorative, although it may have functionality in future versions someday.
I hope you enjoy all the changes I've added for this year. Have a wonderful Holiday season!

************************************************************************************************
This is just a small Christmas mod I've been working on for a few years off and on. This mod has decorative Christmas lights of several styles and 2 colors (white and multicolored), fences decorated with garland and wreaths, fireplace mantels and decorations, fireplace logs that can be lit with a flint/steel and doused with a bucket, Christmas trees that grow in the wild, and special roof stairs that you can hit with a snowball to cover your roof in snow. There are also several Christmas treats and a couple of planted crops to help create those treats. One of these is mint. To make peppermint extract, harvest a mint crop, and put the leaves in the crafting table with a glass bottle and sugar. Then find a water source and fill your bottle with it, and now you have peppermint extract. There is also a ginger root crop, for making gingerbread cookies and a house. I hope you enjoy playing this mod!

Christmas Trees:
Find a cold/frozen biome. You should see some small pine trees growing here and there–chop one down and you get a Christmas tree. Three iron ingots, a water bucket and two green dye will allow you to craft a tree stand; place it down, and use your Christmas Tree item on it. Voila, you now have a lovely Christmas tree.
Now it just needs some lights and a topper… To craft the lights, you'll need bulbs and wires. Wires are made with an ingot and some dye–either green or white, depending on what lights you want. (Classic lights (big) and mini lights use green wires, icicle lights use white) To finish the lights, you just need a bit more glowstone dust and iron ingots.
Once your lights are crafted, use them on the tree layers to light it up! (You'll need 3 to cover the whole tree) For a topper, 5 red carpet or 5 gold ingots placed in an X pattern will yield either a bow, or a star, respectively.

Garland/Wreaths:
You'll want to farm up a bunch of spruce leaves to create most of the decorative greenery in this mod. For the garland, just place 3 leaves in a row, just like making planks. To make the lit garland, combine it with either white or multi-colored mini lights. Garland can be combined with picket fences and walls in a crafting table.
For a wreath, you'll need a bow, (5 red carpet placed in an X pattern) and 8 leaves. Place the bow in the bottom middle, and place the leaves similar to making a chest or furnace. (with the exception of the bow) To make lit wreaths, combine a wreath with mini lights–white or multi. Wreaths can be combined with doors, and picket fence gates in a crafting table.

Fireplace Mantels:
These can be crafted by placing wood planks in the top and middle slots on both right and left, with 3 slabs going across the top 3 slots. If you have a stocking crafted, (two white carpet and 4 red carpet placed in a "J" shape in the crafting table) you can click the mantle with the stocking to hang it there. Each mantel will hold 3 stockings.

Christmas Lights:
There are 4 different types of Christmas Lights, and 2 colors: White, and Multi-Colored. They each come in horizontal, cap (this goes on the top block of a roof or other triangular design) and diagonal left/right varieties. All lights use the same bulbs and wire, the recipes to create each type of light are somewhat different after that. Wires are made with ingots and dye (either green or white) Classic and mini-lights use green wire. Bulbs are made with glowstone dust, glass panes, iron nuggets, and dyes. (either white, or a combo of red, blue, yellow, green)
To make the Classic lights, use green wires, bulbs, glowstone dust and iron ingots. 3 of these in a row will craft the horizontal variety, 3 in a slash ( / ) pattern will create either left or right diagonal versions. To make the cap version, place the lights in the top middle, left middle, and left right slots of the crafting table.
To make the Mini-Lights, use green wires, bulbs, glowstone dust and iron nuggets. The shape varieties are crafted in the same way as above.
Icicle lights are made with white wires, bulbs, glowstone dust and iron ingots. Their shape varieties are the same recipes as the other lights.
Twinkling Icicle lights use white wires, bulbs, redstone dust and iron ingots. The shapes are crafted in the same manner as the others.

Roof Tiles
Roof tiles make for some pretty looking roofs, and allow you to cover stairs with snow. Craft them with coal, gravel and clay balls, and then combine them with any vanilla wood stair of your choice. Once you've placed your 'roof' stairs, hit them with a snowball to cover them in snow. Now your house or base can truly look like it's in a Winter Wonderland!

Picket Fences:
These are crafted just like regular fences or gates, but in a 3 tall pattern instead of 2. (3 planks on the left, 3 sticks in the middle, 3 planks on the right for fences, and reverse the planks/sticks for gates) They can be combined with garland (fences) or wreaths (gates) to create a festive perimeter for your base or house.

Mkeka block:
Place the Mkeka down on your desired surface. You can then click on it with a Kinara, a chalice, or corn, to place those on the Mkeka. One Mkeka block will hold up to 3 corn.
Kinara Block:
The kinara can be placed alone or on a Mkeka. You can use a flint and steel to light the Kinara. This works both on its own or on the mat.
