Description
This mod adds a new world generation type of "Skyblock" to the world creation screen. In addition to the new world generation type – this mod also adds a few other handy features. This skyblock mod will require you to really think about how to progress through it. Yes, it is possible to get to the Nether and even the End in this mod starting with just a tree and a patch of dirt, but you're in for a grind! You will need a decent knowledge of which mobs drop what in order to get that far though.
The original Forge version of this mod is available here:
https://www.curseforge.com/minecraft/mc-mods/mcskyblock
Main features:
- New Skyblock world type
- Adds ways to get several non-renewable vanilla items, through crafting, mob drops or villager/piglin trades.
- Adds a new entry to the debug screen to show whether the player is currently inside the bounds of a useful structure. As structure blocks do not generate in this world type – this option is incredibly useful for locating and building nether fortress farms etc.
- Mod fully supports the nether and end dimensions in addition to the overworld (the exit portal is the only structure that will appear in the game – other than respawned end pillars and end island portals). Note that while end island portals generate – the end islands themselves don't (other than a small patch of end stone).
- Config option to prevent bat spawns – as they can be annoying for early-game mob farms
- New config options to allow the generation of void/non-void Nether and End
- New config option for defining the radius of the skyblock dirt island
Non-renewable item changes (all modifable via config):
- Craftable grass block – dirt block surrounded by 8 leaves
- Craftable mycelium block – dirt block surrounded by 4 red and 4 brown mushrooms (red mushrooms on corners)
- Craftable bundle (6 rabbit hide and 2 string in the top left and top right)
- Tradable Sponges (wandering trader)
- Tradable Lava Bucket (wandering trader)
- Tradable Chrous Flower (wandering trader)
- Tradable Heart of the Sea (wandering trader)
- Tradable End Portal Frame (wandering trader)
- Tradable Glow Berries (wandering trader)
- Tradable Glow Lichen (wandering trader)
- Tradable Sport Blossoms (wandering trader)
- Tradable Shulk Sensors (wandering trader)
- Tradable Shulker Shell (cleric villager)
- Tradable Calcite (mason villager)
- Tradable Deepslate (mason villager)
- Tradable Tuff (mason villager)
- Droppable Elytra (small chance from Phantom when killed by player)
- Droppable Nether Wart (dropped by witches)
- Droppable Ender Dragon Head (dropped by ender dragon when killed by player)
- Droppable Gold Ingots (readded to drowned drop pool)
- Tradable netherrack (piglin bartering)
- Tradable nylium (piglin bartering)
- Tradable crimson/warped fungi (piglin bartering)
- Tradable ancient debris (piglin bartering)
- Tradable soul soil (piglin bartering)
- Diamond reward from Hero of the Village effect (Cleric drop)
- Budding Amethyst from Hero of the Village effect (Cleric drop)
Not all structures will show in the new debug menu GUI currently, only the useful ones:
- Swamp Hut
- Ocean Monument
- Pillager Outpost
- Nether Fortress
If you are struggling with progression, you can find a general guide below:
1. Harvest wood
2. Build a wood and trapdoor pathfinding-based mob farm
3. Get at least 10 iron ingots from zombies
4. Make 1 cauldron (for rain/water) and 1 bucket (to move that water) . You only need one cauldron of water for an infinite water source, provided you got a glass bottle from a witch. Place water source and just fill cauldron again using the glass bottle.
5. Make drowned farm using that water to get 8 gold ingots (to make a golden apple)
6. Lure a zombie villager and a witch into a small space and get the witch to throw a splash potion of weakness onto the zombie and then cure it using the golden apple (this can be a bit fiddly)
7. Trade with the villager to get emeralds (farmer is probably easiest)
8. Build the wandering trader spawn platform (97×97 is the ideal size) and wait for it to spawn
9. Buy lava bucket for cobblestone generator (and eventually a nether portal)
10. Set up a piglin bartering farm (and a zombie pigman farm too – for easier gold)
11. Get more villagers, more emeralds, and eventually buy enough end frames to travel to the end (NOTE: be careful when entering the end from a high Y level as you may well die from fall damage when you hit the portal frame)
12. Kill the ender dragon
13. Build a ton of stuff 🙂
