This datapack helps you when you build with pistons.

Place an item frame or glow item frame on a piston. You'll see a banner appear in it.

These are the banners that can be displayed. White banners with a number means you can still add that many blocks without hitting the push limit. Red banners means you're over the limit by that many blocks. Plus signs means the number is at least 10.

Green sawtooth means the piston is trying to move slime blocks. Yellow sawtooth means it's trying to move honey blocks.

Red Ø: Piston is being jammed by a block that can't move, like bedrock, obsidian, or an extended piston.

White ? on black banner: Tracker is confused because it tried to calculate the exact tick the piston was moving. Appears for 2 ticks before recalculation.

Red Ø over gray bricks and brown fess: The piston is trying to move itself.

Piston with red triangle: Piston can't pull, either because it's a non-sticky piston, or the block can't be pulled. Blocks that can't be pulled are blocks that get mined with they are pushed, and glazed terracotta.

If you use a glow item frame, all the blocks the piston is trying to move will be highlighted (max is 23).

Egg: Orientation indicates direction it will be moved.

White egg: Normal block.
Green egg: Slime block.
Orange egg: Honey block.
Gray egg: Piston or sticky piston.
Red egg: Redstone block or observer.

Yellow Pickaxe: This block will be mined. These blocks don't count towards the push limit.
Flashing Red Barrier: This block is preventing the piston from moving blocks.

How to remove an item frame from a piston. Do any of these:

1. Punch the item frame in Creative Mode (you won't get the item frame back).
2. Throw an item frame at the item you're trying to remove.
3. Destroy the piston.
4. Place a block in the block space where the item frame is.
5. Place another item frame on to the same piston.

You'll get your item frame back (unless you punch it in Creative Mode), but there's no way to get free banners or anything else out of this. Therefore, this datapack is survival-friendly.

Unfortunately, sculks are bugged, and will constantly trigger around these item frames. This will effect a *huge* amount of technical datapacks if it doesn't get fixed before the 1.17 release. If you have a Mojira account, please vote for this bug so it can be fixed: https://bugs.mojang.com/browse/MC-220397
