Every single custom element in the mod required me many many hours of work, actually many days.

Populous is an ambitious project which will be weekly updated. The purpose here is populating (spawn and spawn weight are carefully under control: you won’t find penguins in desert or crocodile on mountains and you won’t have an over number of any kind of mobs. On the opposite many mobs are very hard to be found around) our loved world with tons of new inhabitants which may include: animals, forest creatures, monsters, evil essences, legendary mobs, fantasy beings and so forth. Each will come with its own custom (homemade) drops: funny weapons, strange ranged items, evil mobs, lovely drops, powerful blocks, backpacks, weapons, equipment and more and more. Custom drops are very rare, you would need to kill many mobs to get the best stuff.

Also it's up to you to discover all absurd commands, biomes, dimensions and so on

** Full achievements are implemented and also full custom sounds

** For recipes please use Jei

** Compatibily with most famous Biomes mods (Biomes o plenty, Biomes you'll go etc…). Populous mobs also spawn in these mods biomes

** Ok for Modpacks, you can add Populous and please credit author

Mod has many hidden mechanisms and stuff which leads me to give some explanations but the only way for you to discover everything is just playing.

1) Cyclop: they spawn in mountains biome inside their own cave surrounded by sheep since they love sheep and they shoot sheep (yes you did read well). Be so lucky to drop the correct weapon and you will have much fun here.

2) Saltwater Crocodile: they spawn in river and swamp biomes and if you are lucky you can get a wonderful complete crocodile armour set

3) Phoenix: very rarely spawn in forest biomes (and also magical forests like The Forest Of The Druids). If you ever happen to see one you can just admire the wonder of its flight or may decide to attack her but keep in mind that Phoenix rises back from her ashes. If you are VERY VERY lucky to get a phoenix egg then you can have your tamed pet which will grow with the passing of ingame time until becoming a big Phoenix who can fly you everywhere

4) Hill Giant: they spawn in every hill biomes and are pretty aggressive. They drop (rarely) a very strong weapon which adds splash damage and another monstrously funny defense item

5) Giraffa Camelopardalis: they spawn in savannah and from time to time may drop a rare food

6) Green Mamba: poisonous but pacific animals which spawn in forests. Make sure to drop their rare and secret lethal weapon

7) Python Regius: pacific animals which spawn in savannah and plains biomes. If you ever happen to find their nest be careful at aggressive pets

8) Beholder: be careful since they fall from the sky at night time and in every existing biomes. Be lucky to get their precious drops which must be used with care since may destroy a whole village with a simple click

9) Necromancer: this mob has two different faces. Normal one and mutated form. if you are strong enough to kill him during his short time mutation then you can be rewarded wth a real special drop. He always comes surrounded by its undead slaves

10) Heart Mirror:this mob his able to separate its material from its soul. This makes him immortal unless you are able to kill its soul. Spawns in desert biomes

11) Basilisk lair: a very rare Lizard Man who spawns in plains biome and can summon around him a full Basilisk battle arena. Be careful since the main enemy there is much dangerous. Also Lizard Man is a powerful wizard and can also ride a Basilisk if under attack. Rare drops but very funny and lethal if you ever get any (you can shoot alive snakes)

12) Medusa: Medusa, Statues and paralysis…..better beware and make sure to have a mirror always with you. Medusa petrifies or kills all poor villagers around

13) Caterpillar: small and inoffensive animal which lives in plains and forests (also spawns inside the forest of the druids)

14) The forest of the druids: a pacific biome with green trees and crystalline waters where birds sing and pacific creatures live under the blue and limpid sky. Entrance is prohibited to the evil forces but players are welcome here. You may find funny fungus families, caterpillars and fast snails. Magic Leprechaun also rarely spawns here. This may be your only chance to see a real Phoenix in its natural habitat. If you enter the deep of the forest you may find the Ent, powerful creatures who protects the woods. Finally if you are lucky enough and find its secret hiding place you will be face to face with the snail druid, the entity who keeps the forest alive.

If you are wise just deal him (right click) and like a common villager he will offer you his merchandise in trade for emeralds (special and rare items available for the deal)

If you are insane you can attack him and in the rare case you survive him then your life will be in serious danger: darkness all around, the forest sets on fire and all pacific   creatures now turned into evil mobs ready to stop your way out of the forest.

The update comes with tons of new stuff: blocks, saplings to grow incredible trees, weapons (a precision rifle which can set a mob on fire from 10 kms distance), special equipment, superlative tools to help you with farming and cutting and much more. Just play to discover everything !!!

15) Improving the arctic: do you think that cold biomes have very few life inside ? Well now things change. Added many new cold animals like seals and penguins. New mob added into snowy biomes: The Abominable Yeti. Also added some funny creatures like the Snow Man (who takes life if you insert a carrot nose into a snowman statue) and the Snowman Golem. Not satisfied ? You have now a whole village to discover or better not properly a village but a trading post, a sort of a shopping mall where Eskimos live. Here you may sell your rare drops for sapphires (currency used by Eskimos). You can use sapphires to buy rare stuff and tons of great Eskimos furniture. You can buy special food and rent a room to sleep for some days , weeks or months (it's up to you). Also many new and rare drops like the ice sword (which transforms any enemy into ice) or the ice pickaxe

a) Werewolf: a poor and lonely wanderer wearing rags and hiding from people, during some special moon phases it turns into a ferocious werewolf aggressive against villagers, animals and people. It comes with some new stuff and weapons / equipment aimed to increase power and defense against werewolves

b) Vampire: vampires are a real disease. You must stop them in time or they can turn into vampires the whole minecraft world. When you first meet him vampire can have common human like shape or bat shape or wolf form. He is able to change from one form to another during fight and each form has special skills. They can turn into vampires all villagers and animals which means you must stop them on time or they risk to change all living beings into vampires.

Only two ways to stop them: killing them by inserting an ash tree stake into their heads or healing them from vampirism with an antidote. Update comes with a lot of new stuff: garlic to keep vampires away, crucifix to hurt them, potions, vaccines and more

Also if you are lucky enough to drop a vampire coffin it may come full of rare items.

17) Leprechaun is here. This magic creature now comes with all its stuff: lucky clovers, rainbow items etc..You can plant seeds and grow a four leaf clover plant or a rainbow mushroom plant. Four leaf clover plant grants you a lot of lucky food while rainbow mushrooms are a real pain since they spread around very fast like bad grass. You can set them on fire and explode with the right item (also from distance) and this makes of rainbow mushroom a perfect weapon to defend your fortress from enemies. Also the Leprechaun pot is here, a new crafting table with new recipes to craft unique items.

Last but not least Leprechaun also added to the forest of druids and transformed into Leprechaun Ghost once the druid is killed

18) Gavial crocodile and its tears to summon a storm

19) Alaskan moose and its drops now tradable with the new Eskimo type just added

20) Bactrian camel

21) Griffon Vulture and its rare drop: a pair of wings which allows you to fly in survival mode

22) Reticulated giraffe and its dinghy which will allow you (or better your children) to go on rivers and seas and have fun with it
