Simple Quern
A quern-stone that provides simple ore doubling
Simple Quern is mod for Minecraft running on the Fabric mod loader that adds a vanilla ore doubling system in the form of the quern.
If you want a simple mod that adds vanilla-like ore doubling and that's it? Well then Simple Quern is the mod for you. This mod adds a quern block that allows players to take a variety of items and grind them. The quern can grind iron and gold ore into dust which can then be smelted in order to double your ore output. There are multiple tiers of quern stones meaning ore doubling is not something that is immediately available. While a regular handstone can be used in order to grind things like cobblestone, sand, gravel, or sugarcane, a diamond toothed handstone is necessary to grind ores.
To use the quern place the item you would like to grind in the top slot, and the required handstone in the slot below. After that simply exit the inventory and repeatedly right click the top of the quern until the item has been completely ground.
For players who want more customization, recipes for the quern can be created through json files in a datapack just like crafting and smelting recipes. Examples of the formatting for said JSON files can be found on the GitHub page.
The mod has built in compatibility with Tech Reborn. When Tech Reborn is installed the quern can be used to grind all of the Tech Reborn ores, and gold and iron ore will be ground into the Tech Reborn gold and iron dusts instead of the Simple Quern versions.
Simple Quern requires Fabric Loader and Fabric API.
