Description
A simple Vanilla+ style mod that adds steel.
Purpose:
Adds steel as an improvement to early-game iron equipment, especially for durability. No more crafting four iron pickaxes when searching for your first diamonds!
Also it adds cool new block textures and some other bits and bobs.
Feature List:
– Crude Iron: Crafted from 1 Iron and 1 Coal/Charcoal
– Steel Ingot: Smelted from Crude Iron, requires a Blast Furnace.
– Steel Nugget: Crafted from Ingots, or by smelting armor and tools.
– Steel Tools
– Durability is nearly doubled
– Enchantability is increased by 2, giving slightly better enchantment probability
– Steel Tools mine 8.33% faster than their Iron counterparts
– Steel Armor
– Durability is increased by 33%
– Enchantability is increased by 2, giving slightly better enchantment probability
– Each piece grants +1 Armor Toughness, making them stronger against high-damage attacks
– Steel Doors, Trapdoors, Bars, and Blocks
– Harder and more blast resistance than their iron counterparts
– Come with new textures great for brutalist or industrial builds
– Note: Iron Bars have been lightened to match other Iron blocks. Steel Bars are useful for a darker aesthetic.
– More Firestarters (Flint and Steel variants)
– Quartz can be used in place of Flint to create a firestarter with more durability
– Using Iron in the crafting recipe now results in a 50% sparking failure chance. Use Steel to make a properly functioning firestarter.
