Description
Saves chunks continuously, improves server performance and prevents lagspikes from saving too many chunks at once.
Vanilla has one big save every 5 minutes, which is causing lagspikes when there is too many chunks to save leading to rubberbanding every 5 minutes. This mod disables the save and replaces it with distributed continuous saving.
Vanilla itself added a form of continuous saving itself, but that one simply tries to save up to 20 chunks per tick, which is a problem due to mods marking chunks as saved rather frequently, e.g. tech pipes or processing blocks do it every time their inventory changes. Which leads to not only constant saving of chunks causing high disk throughput and lag but also may lead to saving the same 20 chunks which are first in the list over and over again, skipping others.
This mod fixes those issues by queueing chunks up to save 5 minutes(configurable time) after it is marked for saving. It also adds a bit of variance so the chunk saves spread out nicely and do not pile up.
