Description
For 1.18 players: We made a brand new mod named Caupona which inherits the principle of this mod and add a lot of very new contents. This mod would keep maintained in 1.16 while Caupona in 1.18. There won’t be any backport.
Thermopolium: Cook your very custom cuisine just as you like
Thermopolium[wikipedia] means cook-shop in ancient Greco-Roman, and this is core of this mod: cooking stews and drinks.
Inspired by mods like crock pot and farmer’s delight, we decide to develop a mod that can cook in a way close to reality. Making cooking a little bit more custom and fun.
This mod have NO any recipe restriction. You can put any food ingredient inside and just cook to a nice pot of soup, which inherits properties of all ingredients. Concentration, dilution and mixing are also supported, making it possible to modify finished soups. Even if you just put some random things inside, it can be a nice chowder soup for drinking. Its looking and name also changes according to the ingredients you place inside.
Moreover, we introduced the idea of automation. It can be made into fully automation with vanilla mechanics, though it may be a little hard.

Pots should be put on stoves and provide stoves with fuel to cook.
GUI of cooking pot:
- Progress bar
- Start cooking button
- Redstone control. when on, it would accept redstone signal as start cooking signal.
- Item ingredient slot, 9 items per cooking time max.
- Fluid tank, accepts fluid ingredients and outputs result.
- Tank interact slot, can either pour out tank content into bowls or put contents of bowl into tank.
- Inventory.
To cook a pot of soup:
- Setup pot and stove
- Put fluid ingredient as base, water/milk/stock are supported.
- Put item ingredient inside.
- Click “Start cooking” button.
- Wait until multiple process finish automatically
Special tips:
- Foods does not need to be cooked before cooking into pots, they would be cooked during the pot cooking process.
- Potions can be put into soups by cooking, which add potion effects to soup.
- Soup inherits values and effects from ingredients, cooking poison food would result in poison soup.
- Finished soup are also able to cook.
