Timber Frames

Rasa Novum’s Timber Frames mod allows players to create medieval and fantasy timber frame walls in an aesthetic and dynamic manner. With the broad knife tool, players can change the basic timber frame block into several different variants in order to achieve the look they want for an area. These variants utilize a connecting texture system to allow players to attain various results with any size of wall.

CTM is required to fully use this mod!

Timber Frames allows players to build timber frame walls with extreme customization. Utilizing all six of the overworld wood types and both nether wood types, timber frame walls can blend into many building styles and settings. The Nether timber frames can be created using Soul Clay, which is found in the Soul Sand Valley biome within the Nether. From expert builders who want to give their medieval villages a bit more detail to players who just want to build a cozy little cottage with style, Timber Frames has something for everyone.

 For agrarian enthusiasts there is now the barn wood type as well as the barn timber frame. Using the same methods as the other timber frames blocks, you now have the tools to build an idyllic home to your liking.

Players begin by crafting basic timber frame blocks and then the new broad knife tool. When first holding the broad knife in your hand you can press “H” to access a guide menu. Players can then use the broad knife to interact with timber frame blocks, changing both what blocks they connect textures with and what type of frame they have. With those two abilities, players can create an extreme variety of wall patterns and designs. Experiment to your heart’s content!

Are there modded wood variants?

No, but we may consider adding some in the future for popular mods like Biomes O’ Plenty. Stay tuned.

Will there be a Fabric version?

Possibly, we plan to look into it but there are no concrete plans yet.

Is this mod going to be available to version X?

Beyond the versions we already have listed, there are no concrete plans currently.

Are there any planned features?

Other than reworking and optimizing what already exists, there are no current plans for additional features like other wall types.

Can I use this in my modpack and/or server?

Yes, as long as you credit us and download it from our official sources.

How do I fix “The game crashed whilst tesselating block model”?

Go into Optifine and disable connected textures, it conflicts with the CTM mod.
