You can summon potential waifus with the Book of Love item. It is crafted by surrounding a book with four poppies. Opening the Book of Love will allow you to browse potential waifus that are currently available in the mod (more will be added in the future). You can summon a potential waifu from here, but it will cost five xp. Each Book of Love can only summon five waifus before breaking (to prevent spam). After a potential waifu has been summoned, you can ‘talk’ to them by right-clicking. In order to tame one, you will need to give them gifts of their liking. The Book of Love will show what each potential waifu likes and dislikes. You can give them these gifts by right-clicking them while holding the item and sneaking (shift+right-click). Giving a potential waifu an item they like will increase their infatuation by one, and an item they dislike will decrease it by one. Other items will not affect their infatuation. Once a waifu has become infatuated with you, (an infatuation value of five), their dialogue when spoken to will change, indicating they now like you! This means they can be tamed by right-clicking on them with the waifu ring, which requires a diamond and four gold nuggets in a specific pattern (recipes shown in image gallery). Be careful though; as other players can steal your girl if they can give her a ring first! Once tamed, they are now your waifu! They will have new dialogue to show this, and will now follow you around. You can ‘store’ your waifu in your inventory by right-clicking on them while sneaking as if you’re giving them a gift. Doing so will give you the Totem of Waifu, and right-clicking with this item will re-summon your waifu. If you somehow lose your totem and have no backups, you can craft one by surrounding a Totem of Undying with four poppies. Any Totems of Waifu will spawn your waifu once used, no matter where they came from. The Waifu Wand will give you some additional options with your waifu, and can be crafted with just a stick and a Book of Love. Right-clicking with this item will bring up a menu of three options. Firstly, you can teleport your waifu to your location, but this will only work if she is somewhat nearby. You can also change the skin of your waifu here, as well as remove them altogether. Removing a waifu will effectively make you ‘single’ again if you wish to court a different waifu. Changing their skin or removing them will require you to place their totem in the gui. If you want your waifu to fight for you, you will need to make a Potion of Love item. This can be crafted with a single poppy and a bottle of water (or any existing potion). Right-clicking your waifu with one of these stackable potions will allow them to fight for you for five minutes. Yandere waifus such as Yuno will fight for you regardless of if you have given them a potion or not. Many waifus have an ‘ability’ such as this, which amounts to special behavior unique to them. For instance, Hinata will sometimes use her Byakugan each time she kills a mob, allowing you to see nearby mobs through walls. Another example of this is Tohru,
who will periodically give you her Roasted Tail to eat. I’ll let you guys discover the other examples, and more unique behaviors will likely be added going forward. Lastly there is the Waifu Saddle. This is essentially a joke item for now, and it can only be obtained in creative.
