Description
This is a quick project I decided to pursue after I noticed that there is a lot of lag surrounding the cosmetic items which are available in Wynncraft that take a significant hit on performance. This resource pack aims to replace all cosmetic gear skins that can be obtained through crates with default alternatives in order to decrease client side lag.
This type of lag is usually contributed by item models (JSON) that are made using a unique style called voxel which requires several cubes that give a model depth; unfortunately for Minecraft's sake this is extremely exhausting on the client and generates lots of lag that makes the game almost unplayable. In the case of Wynncraft if you have ever seen a player nearby with a gear skin equipped (especially helmets) you'll notice right away the drop in performance, with this resource pack it replaces those models with extremely simple replacements that don't affect performance as drastically.
Note that this resource pack makes it impossible for yourself to see the skins that you have unlocked and equipped as well so be wary of that!
The changes that this resource pack introduces includes replacing all helmets with pumpkins and weapon gear skins with iron axes. In the future I can look into changing all default weapon skins into their default wood variants if there is interest for it and as well as a release that is compatible with versions past 1.12+.
The cosmetic items affected by this resource pack includes all gear skins that can be obtained through crates for weapons and helmets. Note that this resource pack requires Optifine in order to function properly so make sure you have it installed prior to using this pack. Thanks for reading and have fun!
