Moo's Triad!

Behold, a Mod!
Moo's Triad is a vanilla-enhancing mod that aims to improve 3 things: food, foraging, and fishing!

Features:

-Worms: These icky echinoderms can be found while breaking any type of Grass Block, at around the same rate you'd expect to find Flint while breaking Gravel. You can cook and eat them as a quick snack, gild them with 8 Golden Nuggets, or craft them with Dirt to get more dirt.

-Golden Worms: The best bait in the blocky biosphere! Craft one up with 1 Worm surrounded by 8 Golden Nuggets, and watch the fish flock to your hook!

-Cans of Worms: 9 Worms in the crafting grid will yield a Can of Worms. You can place them down (though I'm not sure why you'd want to) or use them in elaborate, physical puns involving a certain English expression.

-Fishing Crates: While fishing, there's a small chance for you to hook in some crates! You can place them down as decoration (they look really good) or smash them open to get some fishing-related loot! The crates aren't affected by Silk Touch, though, so be careful! Once they're placed, they're placed.

[This is an unfinished feature. More functionality will be added in later updates.]

-Fishing Tweaks: Rotten Flesh and Water Bottles have been removed from the Fishing loot table. To adjust for this, the chance of catching Junk and Treasure has been slightly increased. As well as this, you have a small chance to catch no fish at all (your line "snaps".) The former feature only applies to Fish, not Treasure or Junk, and both features are affected by Luck of the Sea (line snap chance decreases per level.)

[This is an unfinished feature. More functionality will be added in later updates.]

-Bait: You now have some agency over your Fishing haul! Try casting your line with a Worm, Maggot, Minnow, Golden Worm, or Cavecrawler in your offhand!

– Worms grant 1 minute of Luck 1 when used.
– Golden Worms grant 3 minutes of Luck 2 when used.

– Minnows grant 1 minute of Luck 2 when used.

– Maggots grant 30 seconds of Luck 1 when used.

– All cavecrawlers grant 1 minute of Luck 1 when used.

-Minnows: These tiny fish are hard to catch, but make up for the effort if you manage to hook one! They're too small to eat, but other fish may find them tasty…

-Spices: Sold by the Wandering Trader, Spices can be applied to Meat Pasties in the crafting grid to yield Spiced Pasties. Different types of spice will give your pasty different effects. They're like stackable potions, but balanced!

-Diced Meat: Place any raw meat (Note: Raw fishes don't count as meat in this case) in the crafting grid to get 2 Diced Meat items. These can be eaten or cooked, the latter variant of which can be used to craft the Meat Pasty.

-Meat Pasties: Not to be confused with pastries, these delectable meat-filled tarts restore more hunger and saturation than steak! Good luck crafting them though, the ingredients can be hard to come by if you don't have the proper farms. Craft these with 3 Diced Meat, 2 Eggs, 2 Sugar, and 2 Wheat. Alternatively, you can find them in naturally generated structures, such as pillager outposts and dungeons.

-Stewed Carrots: Someone wanted me to add more vegetarian food choices, so I added these. Fry up some carrots in a furnace, campfire, or smoker to get these tasty tubers. They'll get a part in a few more recipes down the line, but you can snack on them alone for now.

-Honey-Glazed Carrots: Combine a Stewed Carrot with a bottle of honey to get your blocky hands on this delicacy. They restore the same amount of hunger and saturation as Meat Pasties, so you can dine like a deity (even if you're vegetarian.)

-Cheese: Say cheese! Slap a bucket of milk in your crafting grid, and shazam, you've got 2 wedges of cheese! Perfect for showing off to guests at a fancy dinner party.

[This feature will be scrapped in the overhaul.]

-Maggots: These disgusting parasites live in rotting mobs, feeding off of their flesh. These have a 1 in 6 chance to replace Rotten Flesh when dropped from Zombies, Husks, and other rotting mobs. You won't miss that 16.666% of lost Rotten Flesh, right? Maggots are currently only useful as bait, but more functionality will be added soon.

[This feature will be scrapped in the overhaul.]

-Cavecrawlers: Silverfish aren't the only bugs that like to burrow into rocks! Cavecrawlers come in nine stunning shades, and you can crush their colorful carapaces for dye. They're a rare drop from Stone (about a 0.001% chance with an unenchanted pick), but this chance is doubled when mining Andesite, Diorite, or Granite.

[This feature will be scrapped in the overhaul.]

-Craftable Chainmail: Pretty self-explanatory. Just substitute Chains for whatever material you'd use to make armor. Don't know why in Jeb's name you'd want to craft chainmail, but hey, you do you.

-Squid Mantles: Who says Squids are useless? When killed, Squids have a chance to drop Squid Mantles, which can be cooked in a furnace, campfire or smoker for an even tastier treat. Calamari, anyone?

[This feature will be scrapped in the overhaul.]

-Luxite Pearls: The radiant Luxite Pearl is thought to be the blood of the ancient creatures that roamed a prehistoric Minecraft. While Luxite Pearls are too brittle to be useful for tools or armor, it has a better use- it glows! Luxite Ore emits a light level of 6, and Luxite Blocks emit a light level of 15. Both blocks can only be mined with pickaxes made of Iron or a better material.

[This feature will be scrapped in the overhaul.]

-Clams: Allured by the player's tantalizingly baited hook, Clams have emerged from their silty homes to the world of Minecraft. You'll rarely catch these while fishing, but if you somehow manage to do so, you can pry open their shells with a right click to see what's inside! Usually it'll be clam meat, but there's a 5% chance for each clam to hold a Luxite Pearl.

[This feature will be scrapped in the overhaul.]

FAQ:

Q: Fabric?

A: No, sorry. That's an entirely different modloader, and would be a pain and a half to port to.

Q: Backport to [insert version here]?

A: There are no plans to backport this mod. All updates and support will be native to 1.16.3 and 1.16.4 (and, once a stable Forge build is released, 1.16.5.)

Q: Can I port this mod myself?

A: Yes, but you must include a link back to this Curseforge page.

Q: Can I use this mod in my modpack?

A: Of course!

COMING SOON:

Complete mod overhaul! Stay tuned…

PLANNED UPDATES:

– A mushroom foraging system!

Runestones, maybe?
Collectible bugs!!!

– More to come!
