For a very, very long time the cats of Minecraft have been neglected. This mod aims to change that, breathing a whole new life into the soft little fluff balls of hate.

Version Plans: Forge 1.15.2 port coming next (soon!!); possibly 1.14 version port after- forge and fabric are planned, however 1.16 ports will be a while longer. Forge 1.12.2 will also continue to see updates.

Getting Started
The very first thing you want to do is craft yourself a pet carrier or two… or more! Pet carriers will not break and do not stack, but they will only hold one pet at a time so make sure you have plenty to bring your adopted cats home in! Cats do not follow you by themselves, so these pet carriers will keep you sane trying to get home from a village.

Now you can set out on your mission to find these adoptable cuties! In almost every village, you will find a new structure that we will call the Pet Shelter.

With this new building comes a new villager as well! You can easily tell them apart by their cute yellow smock with a golden paw print on the front.

This villager has extra special trades for you that will cost a certain number of raw fish or bones! Cats from the villager trade are never spayed/neutered, so they will breed if given the opportunity to. Remember, the carrier these pets come from are only temporary and will disappear once you release the pet inside.

There are also a few shelter pets inside! 1-3 dogs and 1-3 cats, all available for adoption with this mod's adoption certificate. Crafted with one paper and one ink sac, you can use it on the cat or dog you'd like to adopt! Shelter pets are always spayed/neutered, which means they cannot breed.

Congratulations! That's all there is to it. Now be sure to read up on the wiki for special item uses to get more information about your cats, and the most important section: breeding!

Coming Soon

Multi-block cat trees! Will come in all wool colors and each piece is its own block.

Summon Command
The cats in this mod work a little differently when it comes to their textures. Simply using the command /summon simplycats:cat will NOT work, it will spawn an invisible cat. To get this command to work without spawning a broken cat, you need to include data tags with the command. ALL tags must be included, be wary of spelling and remember everything is case sensitive! If you make a mistake in the command and spawn a broken cat, just kill it and restart your game if necessary.

Example:
/summon simplycats:cat ~ ~1 ~ {EyeColor:green,FurLength:L-L,Eumelanin:B-B,Phaeomelanin:XO-XO,Dilution:D-D,DiluteMod:dm-dm,Agouti:A-A,Tabby:mc-mc,Spotted:sp-sp,Ticked:ta-ta,Colorpoint:C-C,White:w-w,Bobtail:Jb-Jb}

List of tags and their options:
EyeColor: copper, gold, hazel, green, blue

The following will list each allele for each tag, of which you would choose any two and separate them with a dash. Examples: B-b, d-d, A-A, Mc-mc

FurLength: L, l

L is dominant and will always give shorthair, only l-l will give longhair cats. (Not visual ingame atm.)

Eumelanin: B, b, b1

B is the most dominant, at least one copy will always give black. b is the next dominant and will give chocolate if not accompanied by B. b1-b1 will give cinnamon.

Phaeomelanin: XO, Xo, Y

XO is the red gene. XO-Y will give a red male cat, XO-XO will give a red female cat. Xo-Y and Xo-Xo will not give red, but XO-Xo will give tortoiseshell/calico.

Dilution: D, d

D is dominant and will never effect any colors, however d-d will change black to blue, chocolate to lilac, cinnamon to fawn, and red to cream.

DiuteMod: Dm, dm

Dm is dominant and only effects the color of cats who are homozygous dilute (d-d), this gene will caramelize their colors (not visual ingame atm). dm-dm will not effect any colors.

Agouti: A, a

This gene gives tabbies their pattern. A is dominant and will always give tabby patterns. a-a will give solid colored cats, with the exception of all reds who always express their tabby pattern. Pattern type specified by the next three genes

Tabby: Mc, mc

Spotted: Sp, sp

Ticked: Ta, ta

These three determine the tabby pattern. Most to least dominant: Ticked, Spotted, Tabby. Ta will always give ticked tabbies, homozygous (Ta-Ta) will give the non-striped pattern. ta-ta will not effect the pattern. Sp-Sp will give spotted tabbies, whereas Sp-sp will give broken-tabby patterns, both patterns have sub-types based on the next group. sp-sp will not effect the pattern. Mc will give mackeral tabbies, and mc-mc will give classic tabbies.

Colorpoint: C, cs, cb

C is the most dominant and will never effect any colors. cs and cb are co-dominant: cb-cb will give sepia point (burmese), cb-cs will give mink point (tonkinese), cs-cs will give colorpoint (siamese).

White: Wd, Ws, w

Wd is the most dominant and will always give solid white cats (called dominant white). Ws is the white marking gene; homozygous (Ws-Ws) will give more white than heterozygous (Ws-w), and homozygous recessive (w-w) will give little to no white markings.

Bobtail: Jb, jb

Jb is dominant and will never effect a cat's tail. jb-jb will give bobtails.
