Immersive Weathering features a number of new features & mechanics designed to add life and immersion to the world. Moss will grow in damp places, grass blocks will grow foliage over time, iron blocks can rust, leaf piles forming under leaf blocks, etc etc.
The mod also features mechanics designed to make gameplay as convenient as possible, for example you can re-add bark to stripped logs, & shear off & reapply moss to blocks, and you can use tallow as an animal sourced alternative to beeswax. Its specifically designed to not require the player to constantly upkeep their builds too, and there will be no griefing whatsoever.
Showcase Videos:
Moss Growth:
Moss Growth
– stone type blocks will grow moss over time if exposed to water
Moss Shearing-
Using Shears on any moss covered block will now convert that block to its un-mossy version and drop a Moss Clump.
Manual Mossing-
Using a Moss Clump on any un-mossy block that has a mossy form will make the block mossy.
Bonemeal Moss Spreading-
Using Bone Meal on any mossy block will cause any nearby blocks with mossy versions to also become mossy.
Brick Features
Natural Brick Cracking-
Any type of brick block with a cracked version (including stairs and slabs which this mod adds) has a chance to slowly convert to that cracked version over a very long period of time. Cracks are much more likely to form in blocks next to an already cracked block.
Manual Brick Cracking-
Using any pickaxe on any brick block with a cracked version will now convert that block to its cracked version, dropping a brick item that corresponds to the type of brick cracked.
Brick Repairing-
Using any brick item on a cracked brick block of the matching type will convert the cracked block to its uncracked version. Once a cracked brick has been repaired using a brick item, it will no longer be able to crack naturally over time.
Wood Features
Bark Stripping-
Using an axe on any log block will convert it to its stripped form and drop a corresponding bark item
Bark Unstripping-
Using the correct bark item on a stripped log will convert it back to its unstripped form
Crafting-
Unstripped wood and logs can be crafted by combining them with their bark item.
Wood blocks can be crafted by combining an unstripped log with its bark.
3 Paper can be crafted using 3 Birch Bark.
Mulch Blocks-
Mulch blocks can be crafted by combining 1 dirt, 2 bark of any type, 1 bone meal, 1 soot and 1 moss clump.
Mulch, which look and function like carpets, can be crafted with 2 Mulch Blocks.
Mulch Blocks reduce fall damage when landed upon.
Mulch Blocks create a signal fire when placed below a campfire.
Crops can be grown on Mulch Blocks if they have been Soaked.
Mulch Blocks can become soaked if a bucket is used on it or if it is rained on or placed in a wet biome. Mulch will dry out over time in hot biomes.
Nulch Blocks, the Nether counterpart to Mulch, can be crafted by combining 1 netherrack, 2 scales of any type, 1 magma cream, 1 soot and 1 nether wart.
Nulch carpets, can also be crafted with 2 Nulch Blocks.
Nulch Blocks also reduce fall damage when landed upon.
Rust Features
Natural Rusting-
Plate Iron, Cut Iron, Iron Trapdoors, Iron Doors and Iron Bars can all become rusted over time.
Rust can only be removed when it is in its first stage (Exposed) beyond that, the rust is permanent.
Waxing the block using a honeycomb will prevent rusting.
There are four stages of iron blocks in this mod; Clean, Exposed, Weathered and Rusted.
Any iron block exposed to air can become Exposed over time.
A block needs to be exposed to rain in order for it to become Weathered.
A block needs to be in contact with water in order to become Rusted.
All of these stages can be sped up if you place the iron next to a Bubble Column.
Rusty Delay-
After receiving a redstone signal, iron doors and trapdoors will take longer to close the more rusted they are. Fully rusted doors and trapdoors toggle between open and closed whenever they get a signal.
Manual Rusting-
Using a wet sponge on a rustable block causes the block to increase one stage of rusting.
Using any axe on an Exposed rusted block can reduce the rust stage back to clean.
Soot Features
Soot can be obtained by right clicking on a campfire or fire block to extinguish them.
Soot can be placed on all sides of blocks, like Glow Lichen.
Soot drops when broken by a piston
Soot can be used to smelt 0.5 items in a furnace.
